BPI Sinag 2018
In the same year that Junknot was hailed by BPI Sinag as one of the top 10 Filipino social enterprises, Junknot was also commissioned to create the 2018 season trophies. The trophies feature upcycled plastic fashioned into an iconic “sinag” or sun ray.
This sustainable and eco-friendly trophy features the Sinag logo, symbolizing 'rays of the sun.' The letter 'S' in Sinag is depicted with four sun rays.
The Sinag trophy's base is shaped like a gold bar, symbolizing the winner's contribution to a sustainable future. On the reverse side, it mentions that the trophy was expertly crafted by individuals who were displaced as a result of the Taal Volcano eruption in the Philippines. The design was conceived by IDr. Wilhelmina "Willie" Garcia, PIID, the founder of JunkNot, a social enterprise focused on community engagement and sustainable waste management.
Handcrafted by displaced victims of the Taal Volcano eruption in the Philippines, using reclaimed wood and repurposed plastic waste.
